Molalla River School District acknowledges that health is vital aspect of student well being and contributor to success in the academic setting. School Health Services is a function of the Supported Education Department whose mission is: To work collaboratively with our general educator colleagues in providing free and appropriate public education, which promotes independence, to eligible students in the least restrictive environment. School Health Services are a component of overall school health that provide comprehensive health related services to individual students and the student population. The National Association of School Nurses Board of Directors defined school nursing as: "A specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self management, self advocacy, and learning."
