Rural Dell Elementary School students, staff, parents and volunteers all got a break from the ordinary this Monday with their annual field day.
Despite scorching heat that topped 90 degrees by noon, there were activities galore for students, including volleyball, a colorful parachute, water competitions, bounce houses, popsicles, and many other treats. The last half of the day saw classes rotate between the gym, shaded tree-covered space on the far side of the historic school building, and the school's playing field. Each of these spots held a different attraction, and the shouts of enjoyment were proof that the day was a success.
